Young adults are an important emphasis of The River. Our young adults ministry is called Encounter. Our vision is simple: we want to be a place where people know that, every time they show up, they will find, meet, and experience the living God. But there's more. We also want to be a place where, every time God shows up, He will find a people who are passionate for Him and ready to do His will.

We believe that God is raising up an army of passionate lovers of Jesus from what seems to be a spiritually dead culture (Ezekiel 37). These young adults will be committed to the core, not loving life so much as they do hearing Jesus say, "Well done!" at the end of their race. They are arrayed in holiness that shines from their faces in the midst of hopelessness and darkness (Psalm 110:3). This is our goal at Encounter, and we invite you to join us in our pursuit of God.

We meet every Friday night @ 7 P.M. In a normal meeting, we worship loudly and passionately, we dig into the Bible to find application for our lives, and we pray for each other. And don't forget food. We have food. Mmmmmm... It is our hope not to have normal meetings, though, because we expect to be interrupted by God's presence.

Please note that Encounter is targeted at single, young adults ages 18-25. If you are married or older than 25, please contact our office about other groups that might better suit you.
