Leadership Team at The River
Paul and Margie Arends, Senior Pastors
Paul and Margie have a burning passion for the church to become that
glorious Bride in the earth that fulfills its last days’ commission. As
the senior pastors of The River, they co-lead a vibrant, healing
community of believers who are preparing for the greatest move of God in
history. Miracles and the supernatural works of the Kingdom of God are
abundant in their ministry. Paul and Margie have been involved in
planting churches and leading mission teams into other countries,
equipping local believers and churches in power ministry.
Fire School is
part of their vision from the Lord to be a resource center that impacts
Montana, the Northwest region, the United States, and several nations
around the world. Paul and Margie have 4 children, all serving in the
Kingdom, and 4 grandchildren.
Doug and Cindy Miller, Youth Pastors
Doug and Cindy lead the youth ministry of The River. Together they are
accomplishing an amazing task with our youth. They have a heart to create
a safe place for youth and to see them go deeper into God. Because of
their loving hearts, many of the youth consider the Millers to be like
parents to them. Cindy also serves as the office administrator for The
River. Doug and Cindy have 3 children in their family—
well, that’s if you don’t count the entire youth ministry!
John Arends, Worship and Young Adults Pastor
John Arends is part of the leadership team of The River, overseeing the
worship ministry, young adults ministry, and the church's
media/communication efforts. John frequently leads worship at churches,
conferences, and events locally, across the United States, and
internationally. John has written many cutting-edge worship songs that
are being sung around the world. You can find more information about his

generation raised up into an unstoppable, on-fire force that lives to love
God, even in sacrificial holiness. John graduated from Regent
University with a degree in professional communication. John is engaged to his fiancee Unisha.
